The catalogue of works by Alessandro Scarlatti does not included the mass recorded here. The manuscript for this composition, like the other pieces on this CD, are preserved in the archives of the Roman basilica of S. Maria in Trastevere. The manuscript was inventoried and cited in the article by American musicologist Cannon, dating back to the 1950s. Yet it seems that no one noticed that this collection contained a different mass from those already known by the same author.
